A service of Vicaria Health Inc.
Vicaria Health Inc. is the company behind Vicaria Care. Vicaria Care is the name used for our home-care service and the online experience for requesting and managing care. Our primary service area is Hamilton, Ontario, with Burlington, Oakville, and St. Catharines as secondary areas.
Vicaria Health also presents other services on its own website. Those services, their prices, and any reviews of them should not be read as descriptions or reviews of Vicaria Care home care.
Why Vicaria Care exists
Finding help can become another job for the person already doing most of the caring. A family may know that meals are being missed, dressing is becoming difficult, or someone needs company, without knowing which service to ask for.
Vicaria Care brings those questions to a human concierge. The conversation starts with routines, preferences, location, and timing. From there, we discuss suitable support, a caregiver match, and a clear quote before the family decides. Digital tools help with the arrangement, and a phone conversation remains an option.
The people behind Vicaria Care
Maurin Casella and Yamilet Pina are the people behind Vicaria Health, which operates Vicaria Care. Both completed medical training in Cuba and later trained as health coaches at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Their approach emphasizes careful listening and clear communication with families.
They are not licensed physicians in Ontario and do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment in Canada. Their backgrounds do not turn Vicaria Care into a medical service or establish the credentials of an individual caregiver.
Practical support with clear boundaries
Our services include companionship, personal support, respite, meals and light home help, mobility support, medication reminders, appointment and errand accompaniment, and non-clinical hospital-to-home help. Explore the home care services to find a starting point.
We do not promise regulated clinical care, caregiver-provided transportation, or round-the-clock coverage. Availability depends on the requested support, caregiver, and schedule. Our screening and safety page explains what to discuss before confirming an arrangement.
