Burlington home support
Home care in Burlington for a more manageable week.
When a family caregiver needs time away, the person's routine still needs attention. Vicaria Care serves Burlington as a secondary service area for planned respite, companionship, personal support, and practical help at home, subject to caregiver and schedule availability.

Make the time away useful
A respite request is easier to plan when it describes both sides of the handover: when the family caregiver needs to be away and what the person at home will need. A visit may involve company over lunch, help with personal routines, or practical household tasks within the agreed plan.
Use the respite care guide to explore the service. Burlington requests use the same non-clinical boundaries; your location and preferred times are checked separately for availability.
- Write down the departure and return times, including any essential buffer.
- List the routines that fall inside that window, such as lunch or help getting dressed.
- Distinguish essential timing from preferences that can move.
- Review what can be covered, the proposed visit, and the quote with the concierge.
When appointments cross city boundaries
A Burlington resident’s appointment may be outside Burlington. Give us both the home location and the appointment destination when requesting accompaniment. Travel arrangements, waiting time, and the return home need their own discussion.
The City of Burlington publishes specialized transit information, including connections with Oakville’s care-A-van and Hamilton’s DARTS. Check eligibility and trip arrangements directly with the transit provider. This is an independent public resource; Vicaria Care does not operate that service or promise caregiver-provided transportation.
Support between family visits
If a regular family visit is spent catching up on dishes and laundry, meals and light home help may be worth discussing alongside companionship. Explain which tasks are essential and what the person prefers to keep doing independently. The starting point is the household’s actual routine, not a fixed package.
Choose the support that fits
These services can be discussed together. The links below explain each service in detail; availability at your address and your requested times is confirmed by the concierge.
- Companion care — Conversation, shared activities, and friendly company for someone who is alone at home for long stretches.
- Respite care — Planned relief that covers the routine a family caregiver normally carries, so they can step away.
- Hospital-to-home support — Non-clinical help with meals, home tasks, moving around, and reminders in the weeks after a hospital stay.
- Personal support — Respectful help with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and the everyday routines that have become hard, plus mobility support and reminders.
- Meals and home help — Meals cooked in the home, light housekeeping, and laundry, so the practical side of the week stops piling up.
- Appointments and errands — A steady companion for appointments, shopping, and errands outside the home, within what we can actually arrange.
Agree on the plan before visits begin
Tell us the support needed, location, preferred visit times, and any practical limits in the home. Your concierge will discuss what can be arranged and provide a clear quote before you confirm. A request does not guarantee a caregiver, start date, or particular schedule.
Vicaria Care arranges non-clinical daily support. Nursing, wound care, medication administration, and rehabilitation belong with appropriately licensed providers. Medication reminders do not include giving medication. Caregiver-provided transportation, overnight care, and round-the-clock coverage are not promised.

Can I arrange respite around a fixed appointment?
You can request it. Explain when the family caregiver needs to leave and return, and what support the person needs during that time. The visit is not confirmed until availability and the arrangement have been agreed.
