Oakville home support
Home care in Oakville, at home and through the day's errands.
An appointment can take more planning than the time in the waiting room. Vicaria Care helps Oakville households explore non-clinical support with daily routines, companionship, and appointment or errand accompaniment. Oakville is a secondary service area, with visits subject to availability.

Plan the whole outing
For an appointment or errand, describe where support should begin and end. Someone may need help getting ready, company during the journey, or help settling back at home. Each part needs to fit the agreed tasks and visit schedule.
- Before leaving: discuss any agreed personal support and the time needed to get ready.
- During the outing: give the destination, expected wait, and practical accompaniment needs.
- After returning: say whether a meal, company, or another daily task is part of the request.
Appointment and errand accompaniment is non-clinical. A caregiver does not replace a clinician, interpret treatment instructions, or make medical decisions.
An Oakville transportation resource
Oakville Transit operates care-A-van, a specialized transit service for eligible people with disabilities. Its official page explains eligibility and applications. Check the provider’s current requirements and trip-booking arrangements directly, including any rules relevant to an accompanying person.
Vicaria Care does not operate or have a stated partnership with care-A-van. Arrange the ride separately; asking for a caregiver to accompany someone is not a transportation booking.
The days without appointments matter too
Home care does not need to revolve around an outing. Companionship may fit a quiet afternoon, while personal support can focus on the morning routine. If several family members are helping, bring a simple list of who covers which tasks and where the gaps remain.
The Home Support Planner lets you organize those needs before contacting the concierge. State which times are essential and which are flexible so the availability discussion is practical.
Choose the support that fits
These services can be discussed together. The links below explain each service in detail; availability at your address and your requested times is confirmed by the concierge.
- Companion care — Conversation, shared activities, and friendly company for someone who is alone at home for long stretches.
- Respite care — Planned relief that covers the routine a family caregiver normally carries, so they can step away.
- Hospital-to-home support — Non-clinical help with meals, home tasks, moving around, and reminders in the weeks after a hospital stay.
- Personal support — Respectful help with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and the everyday routines that have become hard, plus mobility support and reminders.
- Meals and home help — Meals cooked in the home, light housekeeping, and laundry, so the practical side of the week stops piling up.
- Appointments and errands — A steady companion for appointments, shopping, and errands outside the home, within what we can actually arrange.
Agree on the plan before visits begin
Tell us the support needed, location, preferred visit times, and any practical limits in the home. Your concierge will discuss what can be arranged and provide a clear quote before you confirm. A request does not guarantee a caregiver, start date, or particular schedule.
Vicaria Care arranges non-clinical daily support. Nursing, wound care, medication administration, and rehabilitation belong with appropriately licensed providers. Medication reminders do not include giving medication. Caregiver-provided transportation, overnight care, and round-the-clock coverage are not promised.

Common questions
Can I request care at an Oakville address?
Yes. Oakville is a supported secondary service area. The concierge needs the location, tasks, and preferred days and times to check caregiver and schedule availability.
Does appointment accompaniment include a ride?
No caregiver-provided transportation is promised. Arrange transportation separately and discuss the destination, appointment time, waiting period, return trip, and any support needed along the way.
